Tickets for Film Admission
Advance tickets for Michigan Theater and State Theatre films are available online via the film’s page or schedule. Tickets are also available at the box office starting 30 minute before the screening.
General Admission – $10.50
Students with Valid ID – $8.50
U.S. Veterans* – $8.50
Senior Citizens – $8.50
Group sales (10+ tickets) – $8.50
Michigan Theater Members – $8.00
Mon-Fri Matinee (before 6PM; excludes holidays) – $7.50
*The Michigan Theater Foundation is pleased to recognize the contributions of our U.S. veterans. During Memorial Day weekend, on 4th of July, and on Veterans Day, U.S. veterans will be admitted FREE to all Michigan Theater Foundation-sponsored film screenings. This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Merton & Regina Allen Memorial Fund.
Refunds for Film Tickets
All film ticket sales are final. The Michigan Theater Foundation cannot replace lost tickets or provide refunds for already-purchased tickets. Tickets may be exchanged at either the Michigan Theater or State Theatre box office up to 30 minutes before the purchased showtime. In the unusual situation that a show is cancelled, you will be entitled to a full refund, including any service charges.
Gold Card members may return their free tickets online through their online Agile member account.
Group Film Tickets
Group ticket purchases (10 or more) for Michigan Theater Foundation-sponsored films can be arranged in advance by calling 734-668-8397 and asking for Group Sales. Group tickets are $8.50 per person.
Notice of Filming & Photography
We love to include images of our visitors in our social media, online, and print publications. When you enter the Michigan Theater or State Theatre, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recording may occur. Review our Notice here.
Tickets for Live Events
Most live event / concert tickets must be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com. Please check the event descriptions on our website for ticket information.
The Michigan Theater Foundation box office does not sell tickets for live events or concerts until the day of the show, starting an hour before the scheduled showtime.

The Michigan Theater is available for rent!
And what a great place for a party! We have been the site for memorable weddings, anniversary and engagement parties. It’s fun to have this very public venue all to yourself.
We also host events for local community organizations such as The Purple Rose Theatre, Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, the Neutral Zone, and many University of Michigan student groups and academic units.
