Al Alcance de la Mano (Within Our Reach)

Available Thursday, March 4 – Friday, March 5

Watch the film Al Alcance de la Mano (Within Our Reach) to be transported to school gardens in Chiapas, Mexico where agroecology is transforming education. In collaboration with the University of Michigan Sustainable Food Systems Initiative, the Executive Producers and UofM alumni, Dr. Helda Morales and Dr. Bruce Ferguson will join us for a live Q&A on March 5, 2021 from 5 – 6 PM. Morales and Ferguson have created an interdisciplinary program, Laboratorios para la Vida program, based out of El Colegio de la Frontera Sur (ECOSUR) that ties together food, science, learning and community. Together with a network of educators, they work to build critical consciousness around what we eat, and to celebrate local alternatives to industrial farming and food. Register for the event at the Q&A link below – and learn more about Morales and Ferguson on the Sustainable Food Systems Initiative website here.
