After my purchase, how do I connect to my Smart TV?

Android Phone

Screen Mirror / Smart Cast

  • Most new Android phones have the ability to “screen mirror” or “smart cast” onto a Smart TV.
  • Make sure your Android phone is using the same WiFi as your Smart TV.
  • Load up the film and cast it to your TV.

Apple iPhone

Airplay

  • Make sure your iPhone and Smart TV or Apple TV are connected to the same WiFi
  • Now you can cast from your iPhone directly to your TV.

Computer

HDMI Cord

  • Check to see if your computer has an HDMI input. If it does not, you will need an adapter.
  • If you have the right cords, connect your HDMI cord from your computer to the TV’s HDMI input. 
  • Change the setting on your TV to go to the appropriate HDMI source.
  • You should now be able to mirror what’s on your computer to your TV.

After purchase, how do I connect to my regular TV?

Chromecast

  • Make sure your Chromecast is connected into the HDMI port on your TV and is using the same WiFi as your phone or computer
  • Click on the cast icon to cast what is on your device to your TV

Amazon Fire Stick

  • Make sure your Fire Stick is plugged into the HDMI port on your TV and is using the same WiFi as your computer.
  • Press the Home button and select the option for “Mirroring”
  • On Windows 10 or higher computers, you will see a “Connect” feature come up in the Network & Internet Settings.

Which device can I watch this on?

You can watch on your computer, phone, or tablet, or cast to your Google Chromecast or Smart TV. You can also download the Kino Now app for Roku or Apple TV (requires tvOS 9.0 or later) and watch the film there.

  • Apple TV – Once you have purchased your ticket to the film on desktop or mobile, follow these steps to install the Kino Now app on your Apple TV (requires tvOS 9.0 or later). You will need to login using the same email address and password you just created.
  1. Turn on your Apple TV and open the App Store.
  2. Search for “Kino Now.”
  3. Install the Kino Now app on your Apple TV.
  4. Once installed, open the app and click the Sign In button.
  5. The app will ask for your email and Kino Now password.

This is a private showing of the film and is hidden from general view. To watch the film please access “My Library” on top of the page. Enjoy the film for five days from the time of purchase.

  • Roku – To install the Kino Now app for Roku, click here. Or search for Kino Now in the Roku App Store.

The first time you open it, it may take an extended time for the app to load. You will be prompted with a code.

Visit kinonow.com/redeem to activate the app.

How do I purchase a ticket?

To get your ticket, click the Screen button. You’ll have to register for an account if you don’t already have one. After you’ve entered your payment information, your rental period will start immediately and last for five days. You can watch and re-watch as much as you’d like during that period.

Why is my purchase showing up twice? Have I been charged for two rentals?

This is a known bug being worked on, even though the items appear twice, you are only being charged for one rental.

Which device can I watch this on?

You can easily watch on your computer, smartphone, or tablet.

If you have a Google Chromecast, make sure that it’s connected to the Wi-Fi network as the device you used to purchase the film. Then, click in the playback window and select your Google Chromecast.

Unfortunately, Magnolia Pictures selections are not compatible with Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire or Smart TVs.

How do I purchase a ticket?

All you have to do is click the Rent button, enter your email address and your credit card or PayPal information. That’s it! Once the film is rented, it will be available to view for 30 days and you’ll have 72 hours to finish once you’ve started watching. Every rental is $12. You can watch and re-watch as much as you’d like during that period.

How do I purchase a ticket?
  • Saint Frances – once you’ve entered your personal and payment information, click on complete purchase. You will be sent a link via e-mail to watch the film on Vimeo.
  • Rent: When you rent a VOD, you will be able to stream all the videos attached or added to it anytime during the specified rental period, including bonus content.
  • Buy: When you buy a VOD, you will be able to stream its videos for as long as they remain on Vimeo. If the seller allows, you will also be able to download the videos to your computer and devices, DRM-free.
Why have I not received my link to watch?
  • Saint Frances – Links are being distributed manually by the staff at Oscilloscope. There may be a delay in receiving your link, however, this will not affect your purchased rental period.
Why am I not able to access my purchase?
  • Did you choose to “Rent” the title? If so, please check the title’s rental period on its Vimeo On Demand page in case your rental period ended.  
  • Is it possible that you purchased the film under a different Vimeo account? In order to access your purchase, you must be logged in to the same Vimeo account you used to purchase the title originally. If you think you need help accessing the account you used to make your purchase, let us know and we can help out.
  • The charge may be pending. If your billing statement doesn’t indicate that the charge went through successfully yet, it’s possible that the charge is still awaiting authorization. In this case, if the charge doesn’t go through successfully, it will eventually clear from your billing statement.  
  • Your payment method may have failed. If we aren’t able to charge your payment method successfully, then your purchase won’t go through, and you’ll need to try making the purchase again.

Which device can I watch this on?

You can watch on your computer, phone, or tablet or on a bigger screen with Chromecast, a Smart TV, or Roku.

  • Roku: To watch on Roku, create a Music Box Direct account and purchase a pass to watch the film. Then, download the Music Box Direct app on your Roku and sign in. Go to the “menu,” and select “My Library,” where you should see your selected film.
How do I purchase a ticket?
  • To begin watching, select “Rent” in the trailer window. Once you create an account and purchase a pass for $12, you’ll be able to access the film for 48 hours. You’ll sign-in to your new Music Box Direct account to watch your film on Music Box StreamLocal, but no monthly or annual subscription is required to watch the film. You can watch and re-watch as much as you’d like during that period.
