We appreciate your patience and support while we all navigate this unprecedented time. Effective Monday, March 16 to Monday, April 13, the Michigan and State theaters are closed temporarily to assist in reducing the spread of COVID-19, per executive order from the State of Michigan.

#FlattentheCurve
We hope that everyone in the community continues to encourage social distancing in order to assist in flattening the curve of this outbreak.

Refunds
If you purchased a ticket to a canceled film or event at the Michigan or State theaters, please consider donating the money instead of asking for a refund. However, if you’d like a refund, you can email boxoffice@michtheater.org.

Donations
The Michigan and State Theaters are operated by the Michigan Theater Foundation, a local non-profit. We thrive on the revenue from our screenings as well as generous support and donations from our community. Your donations will make a huge difference to our organization. If you are able to, you can make a donation online.

We’d like to thank our community for sticking together and staying strong during this challenging and constantly changing time. As a non-profit, cultural arts gathering space, we are tracking the news and guidelines constantly, and we will post updates as we have them. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at feedback@michtheater.org or give us a call at 734-668-8397.

Virtual Screenings and Streaming Platform Deals

The Michigan Theater is putting together weekly virtual screenings of new films that are not yet available on video on demand platforms. Check out our virtual screening page to see what’s coming up and join in on post-film discussions! We are also partnering with some movie streaming platforms that specialize in art house titles with providing extended free trials or subscription revenue shares to help support the Michigan Theater while we are closed.
