Venue Information

The Michigan Theater is currently home to three screening spaces: The historic Main Auditorium, the Screening Room, and the new 60-seat Annex Cinema, which was built to help compensate for the temporary loss of screening space at the State Theatre while it undergoes renovations.

*The Michigan Theater is pleased to recognize the contributions to our country of U.S. military veterans. During Memorial Day weekend, 4th of July weekend, and on Veterans Day, veterans will be admitted FREE to all film screenings at the Michigan and State Theatres. This program is made possible by a generous grant from the Merton & Regina Allen Memorial Fund.

Tickets for Live Events

Many live event tickets are available online at Ticketmaster.com. To charge by phone, call (800) 745-3000. Ticket availability for events not sponsored by the Michigan Theater varies: check event description.

When a show is not sold out, tickets will be available at the Michigan Theater Box Office one hour before the event starts.

Rentals

The Michigan Theater is available for rent!

And what a great place for a party! We have been the site for memorable weddings, anniversary and engagement parties. It’s fun to have this very public venue all to yourself!

We also host events for local community organizations such as The Purple Rose Theatre, Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts, the Neutral Zone, and many University of Michigan student groups and academic units.
