You heard right: beer and donuts ice cream – D'oh!
Ben & Jerry's is celebrating the national release of
The Simpsons Movie on DVD with a free screening followed
by an ice cream tasting at the Michigan Theater on Monday,
Dec. 17 at 7 pm.
The free tickets are limited to 200 people. Ticket vouchers
to this highlight of the cultural season will be available
at 12 noon on Monday, Dec. 17 at Ben & Jerry's Scoop
Shop, 304 S. State Street, Ann Arbor on a first-come, first-served
basis.
This one-day, one-time only offer may never be repeated.
Don't risk it. Come celebrate the DVD release of The Simpsons
Movie and try DUFF & D'oh!NUTS ice cream. The DVD of
this past summer's blockbuster hit goes into general release
on Dec. 18.
In keeping with the company's Social Mission focus, Ben
& Jerry's will scoop out samples of the special flavor
to raise funds for local organizations in each community.
The Humane Society of Huron Valley will be soliciting donations
at the Ann Arbor event.
Ben & Jerry's web site cautions, "There is no alcohol
in this flavor – Marge wouldn’t let us."
Then it teases at the taste treat in store: "The flavor
is a dum-diddly-licious delight of malted, sweet stout ice
cream with a cake donut swirl...Homer Simpson's dream flavor."
Simpsons buffs may be surprised to learn that DUFF &
D'oh!NUTS barely edged out the runner-up idea of a Smithers
flavor: lavender light ice cream with chocolate Malibu Stacies.
Maybe next time.
